Ismael Bonfim’s significant weight miss at 163.5 pounds for the lightweight limit forced this UFC Vegas 122 prelim bout to catchweight, with the Brazilian forfeiting 25 percent of his purse after Prado made 155 pounds. Both fighters enter on multi-fight losing streaks, with Bonfim stopped in his last three outings and Prado dropping four straight, heightening the stakes for roster security. Prado, the younger Argentine at 24, brings forward pressure and a history of strong performances at 155 pounds after time at welterweight, while the 30-year-old Bonfim relies on striking volume but has shown durability concerns under sustained attacks. The catchweight dynamic and Bonfim’s abbreviated preparation add uncertainty to the matchup.
