Both teams enter this early 2026-27 CBA regular-season matchup at 0-1 after opening losses. Ningbo Rockets fell 71-95 at home to Beijing on October 17, while Shanxi Loongs dropped a 109-115 overtime decision to Zhejiang Guangsha the same day despite strong scoring output. Shanxi has shown offensive firepower in recent exhibitions and preseason play, often producing high totals, whereas Ningbo's defensive lapses were evident in its debut. The contest marks an early test of roster adjustments and home-court execution for Ningbo against Shanxi's perimeter and transition threats, with limited established form or injury reports shaping initial trader views on implied probabilities.
