Zachary Svajda, the American ranked No. 80, faces No. 57 Daniel Altmaier in a US Open first-round match on outdoor hard courts. Altmaier holds a 2-0 head-to-head edge, including a straight-sets hard-court win, and brings greater experience with a career-high ranking of No. 44 and a powerful baseline game from both wings. Svajda benefits from home-crowd support and recent hard-court matches in Washington, Montreal, and Cincinnati, though results there were mixed. The match was delayed by rain and rescheduled, with both players entering with limited recent Grand Slam depth. Trader consensus reflects these factors, as serve effectiveness and early-set momentum in the best-of-five format could shift implied probabilities quickly.
