Early in the 2026-27 NHL season, Leon Draisaitl and Kirill Kaprizov lead with 16 goals through roughly 18 games each, fueled by strong power-play production and elevated shooting percentages above 22%. Kyle Connor, Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Logan Cooley sit near 11-13 goals, while younger standouts like Macklin Celebrini and Cutter Gauthier show early promise alongside veterans such as Tage Thompson. Sustaining 50-goal pace over 82 games remains rare, as shooting percentages typically regress and factors like injuries, schedule congestion, defensive matchups, and rest advantages emerge. Trader consensus in this futures market centers on a small group of proven high-volume shooters maintaining output amid league-wide variance.
