Lionel Messi's league-leading 26 goals in 31 regular-season matches for Inter Miami, four clear of nearest challenger Petar Musa, have locked in trader consensus at near-certainty for the 2026 MLS Golden Boot. The Argentine forward became the first player to win consecutive awards after repeating his 2025 performance with strong non-penalty output, six multi-goal games, and top rankings in goals per game plus total contributions. Inter Miami's high-scoring attack and Messi's consistent minutes fueled the margin over pursuers such as Sam Surridge and Brian White. With the regular season concluded and the official award issued, only an unprecedented post-resolution dispute or scoring correction could shift the outcome, though historical precedent shows such reversals as exceedingly rare.
This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 MLS Golden Boot. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLS rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLS season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026 ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Soccer; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
