Iñaki Montes de la Torre, the Spanish right-hander ranked No. 274 with a career-high of 266, faces 20-year-old Felix Balshaw, ranked No. 252 and a career-high of 246, in the Manacor Challenger final on hard courts. Montes, coming off a first Challenger title on clay in Plovdiv and strong recent form with eight wins in his last 10 matches, advanced by defeating Luca Potenza in the semifinals after earlier victories including a retirement win. Balshaw, who reached two prior Challenger finals this season and made his ATP main-draw debut in August, reached the final by upsetting higher seeds and prevailing in a tight semifinal against Mark Lajal. With no prior head-to-head and both players in solid form on the surface, the matchup highlights Balshaw’s slight ranking edge and recent final experience against Montes’ home-country consistency and momentum through the draw.
