Luciano Darderi, the No. 21 seed ranked around world No. 22, enters this US Open second-round hard-court matchup as the clear favorite after a four-set first-round win over qualifier Harry Wendelken. The Italian has posted a 31-21 record in 2026 with one title and strong results on faster surfaces, including a maiden Masters 1000 quarterfinal earlier in the summer. Dalibor Svrcina, a Czech qualifier ranked No. 134, advanced to the main draw by winning three qualifying matches and then upsetting No. 75 Valentin Royer in five sets in the opening round. Their only prior meeting came in Los Cabos 2026, where Svrcina prevailed via retirement. Trader pricing reflects Darderi’s superior ranking, recent form, and experience at this level, though Svrcina’s straight-sets qualifying dominance and the prior result introduce limited variance on the hard courts of Flushing Meadows.
