More markets for the AFC Champions League Elite game, scheduled for October 12 at 12:00 PM ET.
Al Wasl hosts Al Ahli in AFC Champions League Elite matchday 2 at Zabeel Stadium, where the Saudi side enters as the stronger side based on squad depth and continental pedigree. Al Ahli salvaged a 1-1 draw in their opener against Pakhtakor with a stoppage-time Feras Al-Brikan equalizer under new coach Marino Pusic, while Al Wasl fell 1-2 away to Al-Qadsiah. Al Ahli’s recent domestic form and experience as two-time defending champions contrast with Al Wasl’s mixed UAE Pro League results and prior 0-2 loss to the visitors in 2024. No major injuries are reported for either side ahead of the October 12 fixture, though Al Ahli’s attacking options and bench strength remain key differentiators in a competitive West Region group stage. Home advantage offers Al Wasl a realistic path to points, yet historical patterns favor the away side in similar cross-border encounters.
