Connor McDavid’s torrid start—44 points in 17 games with a 16-game point streak and 2.59 points-per-game pace—anchors trader consensus on the NHL’s 80-point threshold, as the Oilers’ top line and power play continue to generate elite scoring opportunities. Nathan MacKinnon, Kirill Kaprizov, and Auston Matthews sit close behind on similar per-game rates, supported by strong team standings in Colorado, Minnesota, and Toronto. Evan Bouchard’s 30 points from the blue line further boosts Edmonton’s group projection. Minor roster tweaks, including Nick Suzuki’s return and isolated upper-body absences, have not yet disrupted the early leaders, though the 82-game schedule, potential load management, and late-season injuries remain variables that could shift implied probabilities for mid-tier candidates like David Pastrnak, Jack Eichel, and William Nylander.
