Luca Van Assche enters the Rolex Paris Masters quarterfinals with strong recent momentum on indoor hard courts, having secured three victories in four days including a straight-sets win over Learner Tien and a three-set revenge victory over Lorenzo Musetti after their Lyon marathon. The French No. 47 benefits from home support at La Défense Arena and a favorable schedule compared to his opponent. Rinky Hijikata, the Australian qualifier ranked No. 83, has produced the tournament’s biggest upset by defeating Novak Djokovic before rallying past Tomas Martin Etcheverry, though he has managed a neck issue and played five matches to reach this stage. Their first meeting pits Van Assche’s consistent indoor form and recovery edge against Hijikata’s aggressive streak and ranking climb.
