Alexandra Eala enters the Hong Kong Tennis Open quarterfinal as the clear favorite against Antonia Ruzic on outdoor hard courts, driven by her No. 17 ranking and strong 2026 hard-court results across the Asian swing, including a quarterfinal run in Tokyo. The 21-year-old left-hander advanced with straight-sets wins over Emerson Jones and Tereza Valentova, extending her consistent form late in the season. Ruzic, ranked No. 81, reached this stage via a three-set victory over Xinyu Wang after earlier wins, but her recent results show inconsistency on the surface. This marks their first meeting, with Eala holding significant edges in ranking points and recent momentum heading into the match.
