Saki Tange, the 22-year-old Japanese player ranked near 1800, faces 28-year-old Mexican Alejandro Hayen in an M25 Sapporo first-round match on outdoor hard courts. Tange enters with strong local momentum after a straight-sets win over Riku Nakamoto in the same event and consistent play across recent Japanese ITF stops, though his overall 2026 record shows inconsistency with several early exits. Hayen, ranked around 1100 with more ITF experience, arrives after mixed results on hard and clay surfaces in North and South America, including qualifier wins and losses in challengers. The hard-court surface and Sapporo conditions favor Tange’s familiarity, while Hayen’s greater ranking and physical maturity could influence longer rallies. No major injury reports or withdrawals affect the draw.
