Jiri Lehecka enters the US Open third round as the higher-ranked player at world No. 19 with a stronger 2026 hard-court record and recent Grand Slam depth, including a 2025 quarterfinal in New York. He has advanced comfortably, defeating Pablo Carreno Busta in four sets and qualifier Toby Samuel in straight sets. Stefanos Tsitsipas, ranked No. 53, has shown signs of recovery after injury issues, highlighted by a four-set upset of Arthur Fils in the first round and a four-set win over Lloyd Harris. Their head-to-head stands at 2-2, with Lehecka claiming the last two hard-court encounters. Tsitsipas’s aggressive baseline game and serving volume could extend rallies on the hard courts, but Lehecka’s consistency, second-serve effectiveness, and current form position him as the consensus favorite in this best-of-five matchup.
