Regional elections to elect the Regional Council of Skåne, Sweden are scheduled to take place on September 13, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who officially assumes the office of Chair of the Regional Board of Region Skåne following the 2026 Swedish regional elections. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally elected by the relevant regional council as Chair of the Regional Board. Any interim or caretaker Chair will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Chair takes office by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of Sweden and Region Skåne; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

The September 13, 2026, Swedish regional elections for Skåne's Regional Council will determine the composition of the Regional Executive Committee and its chair through post-election coalition talks. Incumbent Carl Johan Sonesson of the Moderate Party holds the strongest position as current chair of the governing Treklövern alliance (Moderates, Christian Democrats, and Liberals), which has maintained power with Sweden Democrat budget support since 2018 and controls key executive roles. Henrik Fritzon of the Social Democrats trails as the primary opposition figure, reflecting the party's consistent second-place standing in recent cycles. Lower-priced candidates such as Anna Jähnke, Lisa Flinth, and Niclas Nilsson register limited prospects, consistent with historical patterns where the largest governing bloc's lead candidate typically secures the chair absent major shifts in seat distribution or alliance realignments. Trader consensus prices these outcomes according to expected electoral math and negotiation dynamics in the weeks following the vote.
