Daniil Medvedev enters the US Open 2026 third round on outdoor hard courts as the clear favorite against Arthur Rinderknech, backed by his No. 8 ranking, 2021 title at Flushing Meadows, and straight-set wins over Hugo Gaston and Sebastian Gorzny that have kept him set-free through two rounds. The Russian has a strong hard-court record and multiple deep US Open runs, giving traders confidence in his ability to control rallies and exploit return opportunities. Rinderknech, the No. 26 seed, has posted encouraging results including a four-set win over Sho Shimabukuro and a three-set victory over Jaume Munar, yet holds a 1-1 head-to-head split with Medvedev after a 2025 Shanghai win that followed his 2022 US Open loss. Recent form, experience at the event, and surface familiarity drive the market's implied probability heavily toward Medvedev advancing.
