Valerio Aboian enters this Genoa Challenger qualifying match as the clear favorite against Lorenzo Rottoli, driven by his superior ranking near 431, career-high of 378, and stronger recent clay-court form. The left-handed Argentine has posted multiple wins in recent Challenger events on the surface, including straight-sets victories and strong break-point conversion in 2026. Rottoli, an Italian ranked near 901, brings home-soil familiarity and solid doubles experience but trails significantly in overall win rate and consistency at this level. Their first meeting favors Aboian’s higher match volume and experience in similar red-clay qualifiers, though Rottoli’s potential for aggressive returns could test early service holds. The outcome hinges on Aboian maintaining momentum after a busy schedule versus Rottoli’s ability to capitalize on any fatigue.
