Jenson Brooksby, an unseeded American ranked near No. 73, enters the Winston-Salem Open second-round clash on hard courts after a dominant 6-3, 6-2 opening-round win over big-serving Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. The 25-year-old holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge over seventh-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas from their prior meeting and benefits from strong recent baseline redirection and return play. Tsitsipas, ranked around No. 49 after an inconsistent 2026 campaign that included a clay title but early Masters exits, receives a first-round bye and must adjust to Brooksby’s low-bouncing style on this surface. The matchup highlights Brooksby’s home-crowd momentum against Tsitsipas’s higher ranking and experience in best-of-three sets.
