Qinwen Zheng enters this US Open qualifying final-round clash as the clear favorite, leveraging her experience as a former top-five player and 2024 Olympic champion despite a current ranking of 121 following injury setbacks. The 23-year-old Chinese right-hander has advanced in straight sets through her first two matches on outdoor hard courts, showing improved key-point execution after a 6-1, 7-5 win over Clara Burel. Elena Pridankina, the 20-year-old Russian ranked 186, arrives with momentum after straight-sets victories over Aliona Falei and Rebecca Marino but faces her first meeting against a player of Zheng's caliber. Zheng's superior power baseline game and hard-court record position her strongly, though Pridankina's recent form offers underdog potential in a best-of-three format.
