The 28-year-old Mexican has shown mixed recent form, including a first-round loss in Monterrey, but maintains a stronger overall record. Iatcenko, a 22-year-old Russian ranked No. 160 with a career high of No. 146, arrives with strong momentum after three straight qualifying victories, including wins over Lucia Bronzetti and Andrea Lazaro Garcia to reach her first Grand Slam main draw. The hard-court conditions at Flushing Meadows favor aggressive baseline play from both right-handers, with Zarazua’s ranking edge offset by Iatcenko’s fresh form and breakthrough potential in this debut.
