Venus Williams, aged 46 and winless in 11 singles matches during the 2026 season, faces Sofia Kenin in the US Open first round on hard courts. Williams earned a wildcard but has struggled with match fitness after recent losses in Toronto and Cincinnati, extending a prolonged singles drought since her last victory in 2025. Kenin, a former Australian Open champion ranked around No. 110 with a 6-20 record this year, also received a wildcard and holds a recent win in Cincinnati. No prior head-to-head exists, but Kenin’s superior recent activity, return effectiveness, and age-related physical advantages shape trader consensus around her strong favoritism in this matchup.
