Elina Svitolina enters the Cincinnati Open third-round matchup as the clear favorite against lower-ranked Xiyu Wang, reflecting her top-10 standing, seeding, and proven hard-court pedigree. The Ukrainian recently rallied from a set down to defeat Tereza Valentova in the round of 64, demonstrating resilience after dropping the opener. Wang, currently outside the top 100, advanced through qualifying and early main-draw wins but faces a significant step up in competition. Historical patterns favor higher-ranked players in such encounters, though Wang’s solid 2026 win-loss record offers some underdog potential on the outdoor hard courts. Trader consensus aligns with Svitolina’s experience and recent form as the dominant factors shaping implied probabilities.
