Vendula Valdmannova, the 18-year-old Czech ranked around No. 165, enters this US Open WTA qualifying match on hard courts with strong momentum after a straight-sets win over Maria Lourdes Carle in round one and a 22-4 hard-court record this season. She has won nine of her last ten matches overall, showcasing aggressive baseline play suited to the surface. Aliaksandra Sasnovich, the 32-year-old Belarusian at No. 136 and a former top-30 player, advanced past Dalma Galfi but carries a more mixed 2026 record with several early exits. The matchup pits Valdmannova’s recent form and hard-court preference against Sasnovich’s experience and slight ranking edge in a best-of-three encounter where the winner advances toward main-draw qualification. No prior head-to-head exists.
