Maria Timofeeva enters the Monterrey Open qualification final with a stronger 2026 singles record of 28-15 and a recent hard-court win, positioning her ahead of Kamilla Rakhimova in current form. Rakhimova sits at WTA No. 83 with a struggling 17-22 mark this season and must overcome that momentum gap on outdoor hard courts at the WTA 500 event. Timofeeva, ranked No. 96, has shown resilience in comebacks, while Rakhimova advanced through her opening qualifier but faces a player with better recent results on the surface. Head-to-head favors Rakhimova historically, though a prior injury-related retirement by Timofeeva adds uncertainty. The winner secures main-draw entry, heightening the stakes in this closely matched qualifier.
