Lilli Tagger enters this US Open first-round matchup as the clear market favorite against Tamara Korpatsch, driven by her rapid rise to a career-high ranking near No. 45, a 2026 Prague title, and a strong 12-6 hard-court record this season. The 18-year-old Austrian leads their head-to-head 2-0, including a straight-sets win over the German on hard courts in Jiujiang last October. Tagger arrives with recent momentum on the surface despite a pair of late losses, while the 31-year-old Korpatsch holds a comparable ranking near No. 48 but shows a more modest hard-court ledger and limited recent success against top-tier competition. Outdoor hard conditions at Flushing Meadows and Tagger’s youth-driven consistency further shape trader consensus around the implied probabilities.
