Lilli Tagger enters the Guangzhou Open final as the clear favorite, holding the No. 53 ranking and fourth seed status while showcasing dominant hard-court form with a 6-2, 6-0 semifinal win over Kaitlin Quevedo. The 18-year-old Austrian leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a straight-sets victory earlier this year and brings strong recent results, including a prior WTA title. Harriet Dart, ranked No. 115 as a qualifier, reaches her first WTA singles final at age 30 via a resilient three-set comeback against Sun Xinran, saving multiple match points across a grueling run that includes a win over Paula Badosa. On outdoor hard courts, Tagger’s efficiency and youth contrast with Dart’s experience and late momentum, though the Briton’s path has featured extended matches.
