Iga Swiatek enters this US Open first-round match on outdoor hard courts with renewed momentum after capturing the Canadian Open title earlier in August—her first title in nearly a year—highlighted by a dominant final win over world No. 2 Elena Rybakina and a strong semifinal run in Cincinnati. The former world No. 1 and 2022 US Open champion, now ranked No. 8, has shown improved hard-court rhythm following a challenging 2026 season. Xiyu Wang, ranked around No. 80-82, arrives with solid recent results including a deep Cincinnati run from qualifying, but faces a significant gap in experience and head-to-head history where Swiatek leads 2-0 in straight sets. Trader consensus reflects Swiatek's superior recent form, Grand Slam pedigree, and overall level against lower-ranked opposition.
