Peyton Stearns enters this WTA Cincinnati Open first-round match as the clear favorite, ranked approximately No. 57 compared to Harriet Dart’s No. 144. The American has matured into a consistent top-60 baseline player with a powerful forehand and improved serve that suits hard-court conditions, while Dart relies on flat groundstrokes and tactical variety but lacks comparable power and consistency. Their only prior meeting came in 2021 US Open qualifying, when Dart prevailed in three sets against a younger Stearns still establishing herself on the tour. Recent previews highlight Stearns’ home-soil advantage and superior athleticism as decisive edges, though Dart remains capable of disrupting rhythm in extended rallies. No confirmed injuries or late roster changes have altered the matchup.
