Daria Snigur enters this Cincinnati Open first-round match as the clear favorite against fellow Ukrainian Yuliia Starodubtseva, backed by her No. 43 ranking versus Starodubtseva’s No. 65 and a dominant 40-13 record in 2026. Snigur recently reached the Prague Open final on hard courts and holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge, highlighted by a comeback three-set win on grass in 2025. Starodubtseva’s season shows more mixed results around 22-20, with recent losses in Toronto and Eastbourne limiting momentum ahead of this outdoor hard-court encounter at the WTA 1000 event. Both players are in solid physical condition with no reported issues, and the surface favors Snigur’s stronger baseline consistency and recent hard-court form.
