Darja Semenistaja enters this US Open qualifying second-round match as the higher-ranked player at approximately No. 109, with a career-high of No. 87 and stronger recent hard-court results including a straight-sets win over Hayu Kinoshita. The 23-year-old Latvian left-hander holds a solid overall hard record near 64% and more main-draw experience across WTA and Grand Slam events. Alexandra Shubladze, a 20-year-old Russian ranked around No. 190 (career high No. 183), arrives after a three-set victory over Anastasiia Sobolieva and shows strong ITF form with multiple titles, though she has less exposure at this level. The first meeting on outdoor hard favors the more established Semenistaja in trader consensus, tempered by the younger player's momentum and potential for upsets in qualifying.
