Darja Semenistaja enters this US Open qualifying final as the higher-ranked player at No. 109 and fourth seed, fresh off a straight-sets win over Alexandra Shubladze on hard courts. The 23-year-old Latvian holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge after defeating Storm Hunter in a 2024 hard-court final. Hunter, ranked No. 169 at age 32, showed resilience with a comeback victory over Yeonwoo Ku but faces a tougher test against Semenistaja’s consistent baseline game. Both left-handers compete on outdoor hard courts for a main-draw berth, where recent qualifying form, serve efficiency, and break-point conversion will shape the outcome amid potential weather delays.
