Aryna Sabalenka enters the Cincinnati Open third-round matchup as the clear market favorite, backed by her status as world No. 1 and proven hard-court dominance. The Belarusian arrives after a resilient but uneven win over Talia Gibson, where she saved multiple match points and fired 13 aces, extending her strong Cincinnati history. Xinyu Wang, ranked around No. 36, brings momentum from her first career third-round appearance, capped by a comeback victory over Donna Vekic. Their sole prior meeting saw Sabalenka prevail in straight sets at the 2022 Australian Open. Wang’s left-handed ball-striking poses stylistic challenges, yet Sabalenka’s serve and power remain decisive edges on the medium-fast Ohio hard courts. Recent form and ranking gaps underpin the heavy implied probability for the top seed.
