Maria Sakkari enters this WTA 1000 second-round matchup as the clear favorite against Kamilla Rakhimova, backed by a 3-0 head-to-head edge that includes a three-set win at Wimbledon in July 2026. Sakkari, ranked near No. 32 with a 17-15 record in 2026, holds superior experience on hard courts and recently advanced past Zeynep Sonmez after a first-round bye. Rakhimova, ranked No. 83 and posting a struggling 15-21 mark this season, arrives with momentum from a straight-sets first-round victory over Kimberly Birrell but faces a sizable gap in ranking and consistency. Outdoor hard-court conditions at Cincinnati favor the Greek player's baseline power and movement, though Rakhimova's recent form offers limited upset potential in what traders view as a lopsided contest.
