Anastasia Potapova enters this US Open second-round match as the clear favorite against Leolia Jeanjean, reflecting her No. 25 ranking versus Jeanjean's No. 127 and stronger overall pedigree on the hard courts. Potapova advanced comfortably in the first round with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Darja Semenistaja after a late opponent change, showing efficient serving and break-point conversion. Jeanjean secured her first US Open main-draw victory as a wild card, defeating Arantxa Rus in straight sets, but her hardcourt record this season sits at 9-12 and she lacks prior head-to-head experience against Potapova. Both players hold similar recent form records around 2-3 in their last five matches, though Potapova's higher baseline level and clay-season momentum position her to control rallies on this surface. The matchup favors the higher-ranked player in straight sets according to trader consensus reflected in current pricing.
