Iga Swiatek enters the Cincinnati Open semifinal as the defending champion on a nine-match winning streak that includes the recent Toronto title and straight-sets victories over Diane Parry plus a retirement win over Elena Rybakina. The world No. 7 has demonstrated strong serving and consistency on hard courts despite a short turnaround between events. Jessica Pegula, ranked No. 3 with a 40-11 record in 2026, has shown resilience in reaching the final four through gritty wins, including a three-set match against Sorana Cirstea, but trails Swiatek 4-7 in their head-to-head. Home-crowd support and Pegula’s recent form provide upset potential, while Swiatek’s momentum and tactical edge on this surface shape trader views of the matchup.
