Jasmine Paolini faces Sorana Cirstea in the US Open third round on outdoor hard courts, with Cirstea holding a slight edge in current trader consensus due to her stronger 2026 hard-court results and consistent early-tournament form. The Romanian, ranked No. 17 and seeded 16, has dropped just 10 games across her first two matches while converting break opportunities efficiently. Paolini, the No. 19 seed ranked around 21, returned from a nearly two-month injury layoff and needed three sets in her opener before a straight-sets win in round two. Although Paolini leads the head-to-head 3-0, including two prior hard-court victories, Cirstea’s recent momentum and veteran experience on the surface have shifted implied probabilities toward the Romanian in this closely contested matchup.
