Mirra Andreeva enters this Cincinnati Open second-round matchup as the heavy favorite against Oleksandra Oliynykova, reflecting her No. 5-6 ranking, three titles in 2026 including a French Open crown, and a strong 37-11 record. The 19-year-old Russian has demonstrated elite consistency on hard courts this summer, reaching the Toronto semifinals before a loss to Leylah Fernandez, while building on prior surface success. Oliynykova, a 25-year-old Ukrainian ranked No. 44-46, arrives after securing her first WTA 1000 victory over Elvina Kalieva but lacks comparable top-tier results or prior head-to-head experience against Andreeva. Both players compete on outdoor hard courts at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, where Andreeva's superior baseline power, movement, and recent form create a pronounced edge in a match with no notable injury concerns reported.
