Caty McNally, the Cincinnati native ranked around No. 70 and entering on a wildcard, faces McCartney Kessler (No. 48) in the round of 128 on hard courts. McNally brings recent hard-court momentum from Toronto, where she reached the third round before falling to Alexandra Eala, plus strong motivation playing in front of family and friends after recovering from injury. Kessler holds the head-to-head edge at 1-0 and enters with a balanced 17-17 record this season, including a second-round loss to Anna Kalinskaya in Toronto. The matchup pits McNally’s local support and recent form against Kessler’s higher ranking and prior success on the surface, with traders weighing these elements in a closely contested early-round encounter.
