Iva Jovic enters this Cincinnati Open second-round match as the clear favorite against Tamara Korpatsch, reflecting her No. 16 ranking, 30-15 record in 2026, and breakthrough results including an Australian Open quarterfinal. The 18-year-old American received a first-round bye and brings strong hard-court form from earlier North American swing appearances. Korpatsch, ranked No. 47 and coming off a resilient three-set comeback win over Maya Joint in her opener, relies on veteran experience and a recent Hamburg title but faces a steep matchup gap on this surface. With no prior head-to-head history, the contest highlights Jovic’s rising trajectory and physical advantages against Korpatsch’s established consistency on outdoor hard courts.
