Madison Keys enters the Cincinnati Open round of 16 as the clear favorite against Xiyu Wang due to her higher ranking (No. 24 vs. No. 108), proven hard-court pedigree, and stronger recent results on the WTA Tour. Keys captured the 2026 Eastbourne title, reached multiple finals, and advanced past Daria Snigur and Katerina Siniakova in Cincinnati after a first-round bye, reflecting consistent form and experience at Masters 1000 level. Wang has produced notable wins here, including against Leylah Fernandez, but her results remain concentrated at lower-tier events. Their limited head-to-head favors Keys, and the hard-court surface aligns with the American’s established strengths in power and baseline play.
