Iva Jovic holds a 2-0 head-to-head edge over Alexandra Eala, with straight-sets wins on clay at the French Open and grass at Queen's Club this season, positioning the American as the consensus favorite in their US Open third-round clash on hard courts. Ranked No. 14 to Eala's No. 18, Jovic has advanced comfortably through her opening matches and benefits from home support at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Eala, fresh off a career-high ranking and a WTA title in Washington, enters with strong recent hard-court form and crowd backing as the first Filipina in this stage, yet must overcome prior straight-sets losses where Jovic controlled winners and break points. The matchup features two rising stars and close friends, with Jovic's consistency and surface comfort as key edges.
