Francesca Jones enters this US Open qualifying final-round match as the clear favorite against Joanna Garland on hard courts, backed by her No. 104 ranking, third-seed status, and recent momentum that includes consecutive WTA 125 titles plus a straight-sets win over Nuria Brancaccio followed by a three-set victory over Mona Barthel. Garland, ranked No. 201, has shown resilience by upsetting Priscilla Hon in straight sets to reach this stage but trails significantly in recent win rate and overall experience at this level. The British player’s stronger return game and break-point conversion in recent form contrast with Garland’s edge in second-serve points won, while both arrive with limited prior hard-court results in 2026. A win secures main-draw entry for either player.
