Alevtina Ibragimova (WTA 218) faces Mariam Bolkvadze (WTA 418) in the second round of US Open women's qualifying on outdoor hard courts. The 21-year-old Russian enters on strong recent momentum, including a straight-sets first-round win over higher-ranked Rebecca Sramkova, and has posted solid results across clay and hard events this season with a positive win rate. The 28-year-old left-handed Georgian advanced after a competitive victory over Erika Andreeva and brings extensive qualifying experience plus a career-high ranking of 151, though her 2026 results have been more mixed. With no prior head-to-head and both players needing strong serving and break-point conversion on the fast surface, the matchup hinges on Ibragimova's youth and current form versus Bolkvadze's veteran poise in high-stakes qualifying pressure at Flushing Meadows.
