Alexandra Eala enters this Cincinnati Open second-round match as the clear favorite, holding the No. 20 ranking and riding strong recent form that includes a Mubadala DC Open title and deep runs on the North American hard-court swing. Her superior baseline consistency, improved serve, and experience against higher-level opponents contrast with Elena-Gabriela Ruse’s No. 77 standing and 21-17 record for the season. Ruse advanced comfortably past Magda Linette but faces a significant step up in competition on outdoor hard courts. Head-to-head history and surface preference further favor Eala, though Ruse’s solid recent results keep the contest competitive for traders assessing implied probabilities.
