Alexandra Eala, ranked around No. 18-20 and on a strong 2026 surge with a recent WTA title in Washington plus multiple top-10 wins, faces ninth-seeded Amanda Anisimova in the Cincinnati Open’s round of 32 on outdoor hard courts. Anisimova, currently No. 10 with a career-high of No. 3 earlier this year and deep Grand Slam experience, enters with a solid but not dominant recent record. Eala’s improved consistency, power baseline game, and momentum on American hard courts create a competitive matchup, while Anisimova’s superior ranking, serve, and head-to-head edge against rising players shape trader views of the higher seed as the consensus favorite. No major injuries reported for either, though Eala’s youth and recent form keep the outcome open in a WTA 1000 setting.
