Kayla Day enters this US Open qualifying match as the clear favorite against 17-year-old Julieta Pareja, backed by her WTA ranking near 120 and strong 38-15 record in 2026, including solid hard-court results in recent North American events like Toronto and Cincinnati qualifiers. The 26-year-old left-hander brings extensive Grand Slam qualifying experience and a career-high ranking of 84. Pareja, ranked around 284-290, has posted an impressive 19-9 mark this season with multiple ITF hard-court titles and strong recent form in Washington and Columbus, though her limited main-tour exposure and prior 2024 loss to Day in similar conditions highlight the experience gap. Both players suit outdoor hard courts, with no reported injuries affecting availability.
