Janice Tjen enters the Guangzhou Open round of 16 as the clear favorite against qualifier Harriet Dart on outdoor hard courts, driven by her No. 47 ranking and strong recent form. The Indonesian second seed dispatched Polina Kudermetova 6-2, 6-2 with elite first-serve efficiency and no break points conceded, extending a solid hard-court record. Dart, ranked No. 115, advanced via three qualifying wins plus a three-set victory over Tatiana Prozorova, but faces a sizable ranking gap and potential fatigue from the extended schedule. No prior head-to-head exists, yet Tjen’s higher level, seeding advantage, and cleaner execution in recent matches position her as the consensus leader in trader pricing for this WTA 250 encounter.
