Iga Swiatek enters the Ningbo Open round of 16 with a 4-0 head-to-head edge over Marie Bouzkova, including straight-sets wins on hard courts and a pair of tiebreak victories at the 2026 US Open. Ranked No. 9 and seeking WTA Finals qualification points, Swiatek arrives after advancing deep in Wuhan with consistent hard-court form despite a challenging 2026 season overall. Bouzkova, ranked No. 26, secured her spot with a straight-sets first-round win over Kamilla Rakhimova and brings recent hard-court momentum from Beijing and Wuhan, though she trails significantly in career win rate and major experience. The hard-court matchup at this WTA 500 favors the higher-ranked Pole’s baseline consistency and return game, but Bouzkova’s defensive resilience could extend rallies in a late-season setting where fatigue and motivation for year-end qualification play roles.
