Jessica Pegula enters the Cincinnati Open quarterfinal as the clear favorite against fellow American Amanda Anisimova, buoyed by her No. 3 seeding, consistent hard-court results this week, and a perfect 3-0 head-to-head record that includes a straight-sets win at this event in 2020. Pegula has advanced efficiently with straight-sets victories, including a recent win over Emma Navarro, while Anisimova has shown resilience by rallying from a set down to defeat Alexandra Eala and posting straight-sets wins earlier in the draw. Anisimova’s recovery from a 2026 left-wrist injury has fueled her strong 2026 form and current ranking, yet Pegula’s experience closing matches under pressure and superior recent consistency shape trader consensus on the outcome. Outdoor hard-court conditions favor both players’ aggressive baselines, with no reported injuries or schedule disruptions affecting the matchup.
