Mirra Andreeva enters this US Open third-round matchup as the clear favorite against Nikola Bartunkova, backed by her No. 5 ranking, 2026 French Open title, and straight-sets victories over Janice Tjen and Eva Lys in New York. The 19-year-old has posted a strong 2026 hard-court record and shown consistent aggression from the baseline. Bartunkova, ranked No. 34 and two years older, reached this stage with wins over Mayar Sherif and Tatjana Maria but carries a more limited resume against elite opposition. Their first career meeting occurs on outdoor hard courts, where Andreeva’s superior recent form and experience in high-stakes matches shape trader consensus around a decisive outcome for the higher seed.
