Elena Rybakina holds an overwhelming edge in the 2026 WTA year-end No. 1 market after capturing the Australian Open and US Open titles, both against Aryna Sabalenka, which propelled her to the top ranking with a roughly 2,146-point cushion as of mid-October. Her consistent hard-court dominance, three titles overall, and strong results against top-10 opponents have created a substantial buffer that late-season events like the WTA Finals are unlikely to erase under normal conditions. Recent withdrawals from Wuhan due to injury concerns highlight physical risks, yet her points lead remains commanding. Scenarios that could narrow the gap include an extended absence or early exit at the season finale, allowing Sabalenka, Mirra Andreeva, or others to close ground through deep runs, though the Kazakh's current form and margin make such shifts improbable without major disruptions.
This market will resolve according to the player who finishes World No. 1 in the official 2026 WTA year-end singles rankings, as published by the WTA at the conclusion of the 2026 season. If the 2026 year-end rankings are not published, are canceled, or a year-end No. 1 has not been determined by January 14, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". If multiple players are tied and officially recognized as co-No. 1, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed name comes first alphabetically. The resolution source for this market will be the official WTA year-end singles rankings as published by the WTA (https://www.wtatennis.com/rankings/singles); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
